On 20th to 24th of August 2019 realism tattoo artist Torsten Malm will be conducting an interactive tattoo workshop at Studio Malm in Tallinn, Estonia. There are limited spots available to keep the workshop more personal and customized to the participants' needs. Torsten will be doing a post-workshop follow-up with every participant. The workshop is meant for all tattoo artists who already have experience in tattooing.
BREAK DOWN OF THE DAYS
Day 1: Theory
During the first day you will be taught about the basics of a tattooing process - from communicating with clientele, composition and design, choosing the right color palette and tools, understanding the body flow and skin for creating the best possible tattoos to attending conventions and doing guest spots. During this day there will be a lot of topics to discuss, some in more depth and some generally. The students will also be given exercises/tasks to do at home and learn.
Day 2 & 3: Live tattooing by Torsten Malm
In this stage of the course Torsten will be showing his techniques on real skin. While tattooing he will explain about the design and the techniques and tools he’s using. We recommend asking a lot of questions, because you will learn the best during a live discussion.
Day 4 & 5: Hands on practice
In the last stage we want to see what you have learned over the week. You will be working on synthetic skin to practice the theory and techniques Torsten has shown you during the course. You will be given live feedback during the process.
NB! Home exercises or tasks will be given to all participants
Three months after the workshop Torsten will do a 30 minute video consultation with each participant. You get to discuss about your progress and struggles. It is the perfect opportunity to ask questions about the problems you might be facing.
